“Eclectically me”

This blog is intended to show stages of one of my paintings in progress. So, stay tuned.
I have finished a commissioned portrait of my tennis pro’s, Mom and Dad, “Ann and Jim.” and a portrait of Carole and Ross, friends. I paint entirely from photos. Sometimes I get too busy to paint every day...so a week or more may fly by before I can do a continuation. But you can subscribe to RSS below, and you’ll be notified when a new posting occurs. I would love to hear from you, so send me a comment located by the artwork below, and thanks for visiting my site! Please come back and see the painting as it progresses to the final stage.
Have not decided what LouAnn’s shirt color will be. Her cap will blend with the gold lab’s coat. Stay tuned for more to come! A work in progress...

The loving feeling you get from this is incredible. You can almost see the smile on the dog’s face. This is the preliminary sketch to the watercolor it will be when finished. Next step is to frisket around the edge of LouAnn and Pete so I can apply the background which will be dark blueish-black.

Sorry! The process was very quick. I pencil sketched the drawing. Frisketed the edges of the image and applied the background in 4 layers. Then finished the flora and bird.
