Life is good, life is exciting and maybe I’ll decide what I want to do when I grow up! But right now I am deeply into watercolor painting using the “limited palette” of three colors... red, yellow and blue. I mix all my colors from these three primaries. No two subjects are alike and they range all the way from serious to silly. Browse through the albums for all of my paintings and drawings.
A trip to northern Italy inspired a series of paintings around the towns of San Margarita, Camogli and Portofino. The gorgeous scenery combines with an old world charm that was surprisingly contemporary. Painting animals are a favorite of mine ... wild and domestic. They have such a compelling innocence about them that stirs a desire to pick up the brush.
The watercolors of Italy in assorted framing options can also be found in my ImageKind Gallery and my
These websites feature all of my art that cam be purchased framed or unframed.
My palette is generally limited to ‘transparent watercolor’, using only the three basic primary colors to mix all colors I use in a painting. I find this gives me truer clarity and results in a richer color with more depth and is very easy to travel with only three tubes of paint!
Browse through my albums and you’ll get a small glimpse of what I’ve been up to the last few years! I started painting everything, just to see if I could do it and LIKE doing it. I think, at this point, my favorite subjects are people and animals. But that can change, who know?
The intention for my BLOG will be me starting a painting. Then I’ll post my progress on it and what I encounter along the way to finishing it. A few days may lapse between renderings if I get too busy with other things, but you can sign up in the RSS box and that will let you know when a new posting occurs.
